While many individuals enjoy the strong minty scent of peppermint oil, certain mice and rodents hate this odor and will be deterred from entering into areas that smell strongly of peppermint. This means peppermint oil works well as a natural remedy for mice sightings around your home and may prevent infestations.

To use peppermint oil for mice, locate the areas where this pest is invading. Make sure to seal these areas up with a chew-proof material and then dab the peppermint oil along potential mouse entry points.

You can also spray areas like the inside of cabinets and food storage areas with a mixture of peppermint oil and water (add three or four drops of the oil per cup of water), or use this spray around the exterior foundation of your home.
